Electrical Problems We Troubleshoot in Omaha Homes

We troubleshoot flickering lights, dead outlets and tripping breakers in Omaha homes, find the cause and fix it. Small electrical problems can turn into safety hazards if they're left alone.

01

Flickering Lights or Frequent Power Interruptions

Lights that flicker, dim unexpectedly, or lose power may indicate faulty wiring, loose connections, overloaded circuits, or failing electrical components that require professional diagnosis and repair.

02

Faulty Outlets, Switches, or Light Fixtures

Outlets that don't work, switches that feel loose, or light fixtures that frequently fail can affect your home's safety and convenience. We repair or replace damaged electrical devices to restore dependable performance.

03

 Circuit Breakers That Keep Tripping

Circuit breakers that trip repeatedly are often a sign of overloaded circuits, faulty wiring, or electrical faults that shouldn't be ignored. We identify the root cause and perform the necessary repairs to keep your electrical system operating safely.

Local Electrical Troubleshooting and Repairs in Omaha

When a breaker trips, an outlet goes dead or a light flickers, Derek tracks down the cause before replacing anything. Most of the time it's a failed outlet, switch or breaker, and the wiring is fine. If the wiring is the problem, we find where it sits on the circuit and give you an estimate before any drywall work.

For burning or hot-smelling outlets, switches and breakers, or a power outage, we come out the same day. Shut that circuit off at your panel first, then call (402) 490-4016.

An Electrician for Small Jobs

There's no minimum job size. We come out for one outlet, one light fixture or a breaker that won't reset. Most minor repairs take about an hour, and for very small calls, like resetting a breaker, we don't charge the full hourly rate.

For bigger work, see our electrical panel upgrades, EV charger installation and basement remodel wiring, or browse the project gallery.

Electrical Repair and Installation Questions

How much does it cost to replace ceiling fans?

Swapping out three ceiling fans runs about $450, give or take, and takes about 3 to 3.5 hours. Your price depends on the fixtures and what we find in the ceiling boxes. We'll give you the exact number in your estimate.

How do you price outlet and switch replacements?

Outlet and switch swaps are billed at our hourly rate plus materials. Most minor repairs like these take about an hour. Your estimate shows the total before any work starts.

What should I do if an outlet or switch smells like it's burning?

Shut that circuit off at your electrical panel, then call (402) 490-4016. We come out the same day. Most of the time the outlet or switch itself failed and the wiring is fine, so it's a simple replacement once we've checked the wiring.

What happens if the problem is in the wiring?

We find where the problem sits on the circuit, and we make a plan with you that includes any drywall work. Then we send you an estimate. If you don't want the repair done right away, we'll find that wire and disconnect it.

Why do outlets fail more in the winter?

Space heaters. They draw a lot of power, and plugging one into a shared outlet or power strip can overheat it. After a repair, we'll go over what's plugged in where and which outlets can handle a space heater.

When will I get my estimate?

For most repairs, we give you the estimate while we're at your house. For bigger jobs, like wiring that needs drywall work, we send it that evening or the next evening.
